Statistics affect your characters abilities and strengths.

Some statistics do not directly benefit some character types, for example Intellect gives no immediate advantages to a Knight, who cannot cast spells.

Some skill checks in the game require that a character has reached a certain level in a statistic in order to succeed.

Statistics

Might

Might affects the damage your character does when you hit a monster. Might also is used to break down doors and lift or destroy certain objects.

Intellect

Intellect affects the maximum spellpoints of a character which can cast Sorceror-type spells. It is only useful for Sorcerors, Archers, Druids and Rangers.

Personality

Intellect affects the maximum spellpoints of a character which can cast Cleric-type spells. It is only useful for Clerics, Paladins, Druids and Rangers.

Endurance

Endurance helps determine the maximum amount of Hit Points that a character has. Useful for all character types.

Speed

Everyone, including monsters, has a speed rating. If your character's speed is higher than the monsters, you will get the first action in a combat. Useful for all characters.

Accuracy

Accuracy helps determine whether or not you hit a monster with a weapon or spell when you attack. Useful for all characters.

Luck

Luck improves your chances of surviving a hostile spell or avoiding a trap. It does not affect the Thievery skill.

Statistic Cutoff Levels

Statistics have a value and a "modifier". The modifier determines how much the statistic will increase a character's other attributes. For example, A character with 21 Endurance will have an additional +5 hit points per level compared to a similar character with 12 Endurance, however the next hit point gain does not appear until the character reaches 25 Endurance (+6 hit points per level)

The table below shows the cutoff levels for statistics.
